Volunteer: RiverLands Gateway Park Volunteer Workday with Trust for Public Land

08/07/2024 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET

Summary

Join the Habitat team and Trust for Public Land for a volunteer workday at the RiverLands Gateway Park in Mableton.

Description

Birds Georgia is working with Trust for Public Land to remove invasive species and restore native bird habitat along the Chattahoochee RiverLands, and we invite you to join us! Work will be supervised by Birds Georgia, and we need your help.

RiverLands Gateway Park, once open in 2026, will be a regional trailhead and will provide key access for people to experience the RiverLands Greenway and Mableton Parkway greenway trails, and also will provide desperately needed access to the Chattahoochee River via a kayak launch and boat ramp.

What to bring?

  • Water
  • Dress according to the weather and the work being done; chance of encountering poison ivy, insects, arachnids, etc.
  • Close-toed shoes - boots recommended
  • Recommended but not required: sunglasses and binoculars
