By signing up for a volunteer workday, workshop, or attending a field trip sponsored by Birds Georgia, I agree to
abide by the Birds Georgia Participant Code of Conduct (please read), and acknowledge the following for myself and all youth in my care who
are in attendance:
- Voluntary participation in Birds Georgia events involves inherent risks and hazards, including but not limited to physical injury from exposure to hazards such as adverse weather conditions, insects and wildlife, rough and unknown terrain, moderately strenuous exercise, and transport to/from field sites.
- All risks cannot be prevented and I assume those beyond the control of Birds Georgia Program Volunteers and staff.
- I am solely responsible for risks associated with personal trips, hikes, or other activities undertaken at my initiative during the course of this field trip.
- I am physically capable, with or without reasonable accommodation, of undertaking these activities.
- In case of a medical emergency, I give consent for emergency medical treatment and agree to pay for any charges not covered by my personal health insurance.
I will abide by this Birds Georgia Participant Code of Conduct while participating in this event. I will avoid any behavior that negatively affects the comfort, well-being, or learning environment of others on the trip or the general public and understand that anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
By attending this event, I give Birds Georgia the right to use photographs and other digital media obtained during the field trip that contain my likeness to promote Birds Georgia events, including using such material on the Birds Georgia website, social media, and all promotional material.
I hereby release and agree to hold Birds Georgia harmless from, and waive on behalf of myself, my heirs, and any personal representatives any and all causes of action, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses and compensation for damage or loss to myself and/or property that may be caused by any act, or failure to act, or that may otherwise arise in any way in connection with this volunteer event. I understand that this release discharges Birds Georgia from any liability or claim that I, my heirs, or any personal representatives may have against the organization with respect to any bodily injury, illness, death, medical treatment, or property damage that may arise from, or in connection to, any events sponsored by Birds Georgia This liability waiver and release extends to the organization together with all staff, board members, volunteers, and other participants.
